Canadian Forces Aboriginal Peoples Programs
Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year (ALOY)
The Canadian Forces Aboriginal Leadership Opportunity Year is a one-year program offered by the Royal Military College (RMC). This program will provide a highly positive, productive, preparatory educational and leadership experience for the participants in the context of a service to Canada theme. Upon completion, this may lead to continuation at RMC in a degree programme as well as service as a commissioned officer in the Canadian Forces, a career in the civil service or to return to the community. This experience will be beneficial to your future goals. Participants in this program are enrolled in the Canadian Forces as Officer Cadets. They receive a monthly salary in addition to having the cost of tuition and books paid by the military. All application must be submitted by 15 February 2008.
Bold Eagle
Bold Eagle is a unique summer training and employment program for Aboriginal youth living in Western Canada or North Western Ontario that combines military training and Aboriginal cultural awareness. This summer training program gives participants a taste of military life, with the option - but no commitment - to pursue part-time employment with the Canadian Forces.
Canadian Forces Aboriginal Entry Program (CFAEP)
The objective is to facilitate the selection and enrolment process of Aboriginals interested in full time employment opportunities in the Canadian Forces. This program offers Aboriginal candidates the opportunity to explore all aspects of a transition to military life before making an informed decision about joining.
RAVEN Aboriginal Youth Employment Program
Are you an Aboriginal Youth living in Canada, and are you looking for a very challenging and rewarding employment opportunity for the summer? Then maybe applying for the RAVEN Program is exactly what you are looking for. This outreach program is designed to build bridges into the Aboriginal communities in Canada and to make Aboriginal youth aware of potential military or civilian careers with the Department of National Defence.
